Admins connect GitHub at the organization level, then add selected repositories to each workspace. Every workspace member gets access to the repositories configured there.
1

Connect GitHub

Open Organization, then Integrations, and connect GitHub. Install the Kola GitHub App in the intended GitHub account or organization and select the repositories it may access.
2

Add a repository to a workspace

Select a workspace, open Repositories, and choose Add repository. Select the repository and save. A developer can view repositories but cannot change the configuration.
3

Use the repository in a workstation

Workstations apply the new settings and clone configured repositories. Open the repository in your workstation and use normal Git commands, such as git pull and git push.
If a repository is absent from the picker, check the GitHub App’s installation and repository selection. The picker excludes repositories already added to the workspace.

Credentials and removal

The workstation’s credential helper obtains a short-lived GitHub installation token limited to the workspace’s repositories. The token enters the workstation and can be read by its root user. Git access is not currently mediated by a Git proxy outside the workstation. Remove a repository from Repositories when the workspace should stop receiving credentials for it. Removing the configuration does not erase existing clones or copied content. A token already issued remains usable until it expires or GitHub revokes it. Disconnecting the GitHub integration removes its repositories from the organization’s workspaces before uninstalling the app. Check which workspaces use the integration before disconnecting it.
