# Workspace settings

Admins edit a workspace's **Settings**. Each saved change creates a numbered revision, and **History** lists the revisions. A stale save is refused, so reload the current settings before applying your change again.

## Workstation configuration

Choose resources under **Workstation configuration**. Presets and custom amounts are limited by the organization's plan.

| Preset | vCPU | Memory | Disk |
| - | - | - | - |
| Small | 2 | 8 GiB | 40 GiB |
| Medium | 4 | 16 GiB | 80 GiB |
| Large | 8 | 32 GiB | 120 GiB |
| XLarge | 16 | 64 GiB | 200 GiB |

Add the tools and versions the team needs. Docker is configured as a tool. Workstations apply the latest settings revision and report their state while updating.

## Policies

| Setting | Current behavior |
| - | - |
| Internet access | Saves Open, Allow list or Blocked and allowed domains. Nodes do not enforce the setting yet. |
| Who can open previews | Sets the widest audience an owner can share a port with. |
| Stop idle workstations after | Stops workstations after the configured period without activity. The default is 60 minutes; Never disables idle stop. |
| Delete a removed member's workstation after | Deletes the removed member's workstation after the configured period. The default is 30 days; Immediately retains no waiting period. |

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Internet access** shows **Not enforced yet**. Selecting **Blocked** or an **Allow list** does not restrict outbound traffic on nodes today. Software checks inside a workstation or on a laptop only deter, because the developer has root there.

Preview access still requires KolaOS sign-in. The **Anyone with a public link** choice currently permits organization members, rather than anonymous readers. See [previews](https://docs.usekolaos.com/development/previews.md) for the available sharing behavior.

## Apply and verify

Save the change, open **History**, and check the new revision. Check workstation state and applied settings before asking a member to depend on newly installed tools. If an update fails, use the workstation's reported error to fix the failing tool or setting.

Membership and access revocation are checked outside workstations and do not wait for a settings update. See [members and permissions](https://docs.usekolaos.com/administration/workspaces-and-members.md).
